Odd Beholder

Odd Beholder is the electro wave / indie pop project of Swiss musician Daniela Weinmann, with which she precisely and laconically documents the oddities, shadows, and misunderstandings of our times. Weinmann tells stories of alienation and escapism, of emancipation and the vision of a possibly better world. Her version of embracing, dark pop music confronts uncomfortable truths while also offering comfort. On the new concept album “Honest Work”, set to be released on May 22, 2026, ten songs tell stories from the adult lives of working-class and lower-middle-class people. They work night shifts in hospitals, pump breast milk in storage rooms, wonder whether they should get a Ritalin prescription, get called into the boss’s office for wearing the wrong clothes, and take a sick day to walk barefoot to a lake.
